In this Online Open House, we have presented many smaller-scale improvements to implement in the near term. We have also identified a few large-scale “Big Moves” that would need years of planning and construction.
Regardless of the project size, all these improvements come with potential tradeoffs. And members of the community have different priorities depending on their needs and interests.
Residents and business owners have both told us they want efficient, safe, and comfortable travel options. They’ve also asked for safer and easier access to jobs, businesses, entertainment, and homes in Downtown San José. This includes the need for the efficient delivery of goods. This feedback has helped us develop a set of values, or Guiding Principles, for the Downtown Transportation Plan.
